The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Originally born in Queens, NY, I have lived in many different areas of the country. I graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry followed by graduate school at University of Maryland, Baltimore for a Ph.D. in biochemistry. I spent many years pursuing basic science research in nephrology and diabetes research before deciding to change my career in order to have a more direct impact on people’s lives and to give back to the community. I decided to become a physical therapist and graduated from George Washington University physical therapy program. There I learned not only how to treat musculoskeletal conditions, but how to listen to patients, and to evaluate the whole body and not just an injured leg or arm. I also realized that I will never stop learning as a physical therapist. I recently joined Summit Physical Therapy to further my interests in helping the community and treating a diverse population. My future plans include additional training in different manual therapy techniques such as trigger point manual therapy to treat musculoskeletal disorders and additional training in sports rehabilitation
